**eMetric** The eMetric site is designed to provide quick, easy and secure access to student performance results on the South Dakota State Test of Educational Progress (Dakota STEP). This system provides a wealth of information in a highly interactive and flexible format.
Users can elect to display the data in tables, graphs or charts as they create custom summary reports and individualized student rosters. Users can completely customize their reports by selecting the specific content, statistics, aggregation levels, disaggregated groups or subgroups, and/or score variables to display on each report. Once created, each report can be conveniently saved or exported for later use and further analysis.
Each school has established usernames and passwords.

Achievement Series (SCANTRON)
Achievement Series is a powerful web-based assessment platform with multiple delivery capabilities. All public and private schools in South Dakota have the ability to use the Achievement Series application free of charge. The application can be used to manage current tests, develop new tests, administer schoolwide, district, and/or state tests, and report results immediately.
Students can take their tests online or on paper. Choose the most appropriate delivery method for your students, even using multiple delivery methods for the same test.
All tests and item banks (test question repositories) are in one location for security and easy access.
Individual teachers, committees, and administrators all get the test results they need immediately online as appropriate.

Assessment is no longer being regarded as simply an accountability measurement. We are now understanding that assessment can be used in positive ways to benefit student learning. ESA Region 2 subscribes to the idea that formative assessment methods are valuable tools to help guide instruction. ESA2 provides Professional Development opportunities to help educators understand the differences between formative and summative assessment, and how to decide what assessment method is appropriate for a task. Our ESA uses the text Classroom Assessment for Student Learning by Rick Stiggins as a guide in this process.
